This poetry month, I’ve learned that the plural of haiku in English is haiku. I love to write haiku because it feels like playing Tetris with my thoughts. The 5/7/5 form is a framework to organize my observations or anxieties. Concision is king and god, doesn’t it feel so good to let go of the words we no longer need? Your haiku slipped into my DMs and brightened my inbox. Thank you, writers, for sharing your poetry with Lucky Rigatoni.
In my dream I spoke
into the mic, declaring
“I hate poetry”
Haikus puzzle me
I’ve never quite got the hang
Of how to fit ev
I got attacked by
A Baroness with blue hair
Nothing ‘Civil’ here
The rhubarb is here
But I have not felt the sun
Warm me to my bones
This Saturday I
Drank too much organic wine
Biodynamic!
What a birthday treat
A trip to ABBA Voyage
Dancing Queen and wine
Before and after:
Watching rug cleaning videos
Soothes what? I don’t know
Dakota Prescott,
Unplayable when he’s on fire,
Alas, upsets me
April is Masters
"I saw this haul on TikTok"
I buy a dad cap
Life is a fucking
Mess, but i love running in-
To you on the street 🫠
Corporate climbing
Is an art. The next five years?
I’m happy right here.
The end of the road
Where deep blue hydrangeas bloom
I’m so far away
A cricket chirps out
To serenade their neighbour
The night is empty
Gently rocking her
As my mother surely did
Thirty one years ago
Vacuuming the duvet together
a sunny Sunday morning
we laugh at the scene
I made this for you
It is the worst thing I've made
I'll be leaving now
