I love to share my old film photos in LR - you already know! Today’s photo essay brings us to Turkey in the early summer of 2015. I traveled to Istanbul during the purgatory after turning in final exams for university before our graduation ceremony. These photos were lost (almost). The trip feels distant in my memory, the photographer feels like a stranger. I’m staring at my camera and picking my cuticles. It rests undisturbed on the side table with my books and an empty record sleeve. I used to be a person who takes photos, and then what? I am still the person who cherishes the frames, the person who flips through old albums because they are there. Remembering is my religion. I am indebted to this girl who raised the viewfinder to her left eye because I believe my life is richer with these postcards from a past life.
